Because the sealing surface of the API High Pressure Gate Valve is susceptible to erosion, has a larger overall size, and a longer opening and closing time, it is often used in infrequently operated applications.

Features

API high-pressure gate valves are also called power plant valves. They are primarily used in various piping systems of thermal power plants, responsible for connecting or disconnecting the flow of media (such as water or steam). Compared to ordinary valves, the outstanding feature of power plant valves is their ability to withstand very high temperatures and pressures. They also have a special design—a self-sealing structure. This design has an advantage: the higher the system pressure, the better the sealing effect. These characteristics make them widely used in specific high-temperature and high-pressure working conditions, and they are difficult to replace with other valve products.
1. Frictionless opening and closing: This feature solves the problem of friction between the sealing surfaces of traditional valves, resulting in more stable sealing performance.
2. Top-mounted structure: After the valve is installed on the pipeline, if inspection or maintenance is required, it can be done directly online without removing it. This significantly reduces downtime and saves maintenance costs.
3. Single seat design: Eliminates the problem of abnormal pressure increase in the valve cavity affecting safe use.

Wedge-shaped sealing structure: The API high pressure gate valve uses the mechanical force provided by the valve stem to press the wedge-shaped gate against the valve seat to achieve sealing, ensuring the valve's sealing performance remains stable and is unaffected by fluctuations in pipeline pressure.
6. Self-cleaning sealing surface structure: When the gate of the API High Pressure Gate Valve tilts open from the valve seat, the fluid in the pipeline flows evenly along the entire circumference of the gate's sealing surface. This prevents high-speed fluid from eroding only one part of the valve seat and also flushes away accumulated impurities on the sealing surface, achieving self-cleaning.
