As the professional valves manufacturer, JQF Valve would like to provide you high quality Straight Globe Valves with nominal pressures ranging from 1.0 to 16.0 MPa and applicable temperatures from -196℃ to 700℃. A key structural feature is the plug-shaped valve disc's linear movement along the media flow direction, resulting in a short opening and closing stroke, rapid operation, and highly wear-resistant sealing surfaces. Adhering to the business philosophy of "Quality First," we have earned the trust and support of our customers through superior quality and service. We sincerely hope to cooperate with colleagues from all walks of life to seek common development and exchange ideas!
Foshan Jinquan Valve Co., Ltd.'s Straight Globe Valve is a widely used type of valve. Its core feature is that it opens and closes by the vertical movement of the valve disc along the center line of the valve seat, thereby controlling the flow and regulation of fluids. Its flow path is S-shaped, resulting in relatively high fluid resistance, but it offers good sealing performance and is easy to maintain.
Valve body: The medium-carrying passage, typically made of cast iron/stainless steel, with flange connections.
Valve stem: A straight-rod drive component, available in rising stem (external thread) and rotating stem (internal thread) forms.
Valve disc sealing pair: Disc or plunger design, using a rubber/PTFE composite sealing surface.
Rotation of the handwheel drives the axial movement of the Straight Globe Valves stem, causing the valve disc to contact the valve seat for forced sealing. The medium flows unidirectionally, typically with a lower inlet and higher outlet; the maximum flow rate occurs when the opening and closing stroke is 25%-30% of the nominal diameter.
(1) The Straight Globe Valves has a simpler structure than a gate valve, making it easier to manufacture and maintain.
(2) The sealing surface is less prone to wear and scratches, resulting in good sealing performance. There is no relative sliding between the valve disc and the valve body sealing surface during opening and closing, thus wear and scratches are not severe, leading to good sealing performance and a long service life.
(3) During opening and closing, the valve disc stroke is small, resulting in a smaller height than a gate valve, but a longer structural length.
(4) The opening and closing torque is large, requiring more effort and time.
(5) Fluid resistance is high due to the tortuous medium passage within the valve body, leading to high fluid resistance and power consumption.
(6) For media flow direction, when the nominal pressure PN≤16MPa, co-current flow is generally used, with the medium flowing upwards from below the valve disc; when the nominal pressure PN≥20MPa, counter-current flow is generally used, with the medium flowing downwards from above the valve disc, to increase the sealing performance. In use, the medium in a valve can only flow in one direction and cannot change direction.
(7) When fully open, the valve disc is frequently subjected to erosion.
The valve stem axis of a Straight Globe Valves is perpendicular to the valve seat sealing surface. The valve stem opening or closing stroke is relatively short, and it has a very reliable shut-off action, making this type of valve suitable for use as a medium cut-off, regulation, or throttling device.
